There will be much more traffic on the roads than usual during the EURO 2008. It will be impossible to avoid obstructions to traffic. Add to this that there is only limited parking space in the city centre. We recommend going to Klagenfurt by public transport.
Should you still decide to go to Klagenfurt by car, please observe the following:
Visitors staying in Klagenfurt or nearbyWe recommend leaving your car at your accommodation on the day of the match, because road traffic in the city centre will be especially restricted on match days. There is no public parking in the city centre. In addition, the city centre will be closed to road traffic. There will be parking near the stadium.
Free use of public transport on the day of the match and the day after until 12:00 noon is included in the
EURO match ticket (Combi ticket). Holders of fan tickets, available for € 39.00 at tourist information points and most accommodation enterprises, can use all means of public transport (bus and train) within Carinthia between 06 and 19 June 2008. (For more information go to:

Going to the stadium - one-day visitorsThere is a car park about 15 to 20 minutes on foot from the stadium. The car park can be reached via the Klagenfurt West motorway junction. The route to this car park is signposted from the motorway.
Note! On the day of the matches, this car park is reserved for stadium visitors only!
Going to the fan zones / fan mile - city centre - one-day visitorsThere is a large car park for private cars for people going to the fan zones and fan mile. This car park can be reached via the "Klagenfurt Ost" motorway junction of A2 motorway. The route to this car park is signposted from the motorway. The distance between the car park and the city centre and/or fan zones can be covered on foot (takes about 30 minutes) or by shuttle bus (takes about 15 minutes).
Note: There is no public parking in the city centre. In addition, the city centre will be closed to road traffic.
