Top athlete, former world-class ski racer and now TV-show host (of the Austrian "Who wants to be a Millionaire" show) and sports commentator (Ski World Cup), Assinger is known and popular far beyond the borders of Carinthia.
Armin Assinger is "Carinthian to the backbone" and will rouse enthusiasm to new peaks for EURO 2008 in Klagenfurt, across the whole of Carinthia and far beyond its borders, with his uniquely popular presentation style and congeniality.
Before Assinger became famous with his ski racing, he had - of course - played football in his home community of Hermargor in Carinthia.
"It's a great honour for me to represent the capital of my home province and Carinthia as a whole! The EURO 2008 is a great opportunity to make Klagenfurt and Carinthia better known in the world", says Klagenfurt's EURO ambassador.
