He is an international football legend and a celebrated original character. Now he is advertising the host city Klagenfurt: Reiner Calmund.
The EURO 2008 town of Klagenfurt has two Championship Ambassadors of European fame and reputation: Armin Assinger, former ski racing ace and now hugely popular game show host of the Austrian "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" show, and Reiner Calmund, international PR ambassador for Klagenfurt, a legendary figure in German football and former manager of Bayer Leverkusen.
Calmund visited Klagenfurt, was fascinated by the town and in a talk with Mayor Harald Scheucher he immediately agreed to be the international "advertiser" of the host city Klagenfurt. Before the Championship, Calmund will visit all the countries whose national teams are to play in Klagenfurt. His travel itinerary is fixed now that the teams are known following the draw in Lucerne on 2 December.
