The Rutar furniture store chain has only recently opened its shop in Klagenfurt, but on Friday it gave the first impressive proof of its commitment to the Carinthian capital. Josef Rutar, Mayor of Klagenfurt Harald Scheucher and Euro fan zones coordinator Stefan Petschnig signed the Host City Sponsor Agreement.

Mayor Harald Scheucher underlined that UEFA's sponsorship rules were very strict: "There are ten international and four national sponsors of EURO 2009. In addition, there is the option of acting as host city sponsor, provided you are not in competition to one of the main or national sponsors. Rutar meets these requirements."
Josef Rutar confirmed that it was a great pleasure for Carinthia's largest furniture store to be involved in the greatest sports event in Carinthia. Not only the city of Klagenfurt, but Rutar customers, too, will benefit from this commitment. "We will give away 100 tickets for the VIP are in the Neuer Platz fan zone in a lottery; the main prize of the draw will be three tickets for the matches at the Klagenfurt stadium", said Josef Rutar.

The set-up of the fan zones at Neuer Platz and the Exhibition Grounds will begin on 22 May. "With the sponsorship of the Rutar company it has now become possible to make the side events in the fan zones even more attractive" said Stefan Petschnig.
