Klagenfurt is best prepared for the European Football Championship - the traffic concepts have just been presented.
Parking for visitors arriving by car, shuttle service for fans arriving by train or plane, buses running more frequently and temporary permits for residents - All this has been taken into account, and yet, the system is still flexible enough to accommodate changing demands and requirements.

"The concept has been drawn up in close cooperation with the police and UEFA; of course it can still be expanded and modified. We have to be able to react flexibly to the actual requirements," says Manfred Pock, head of the Organising Committee.
Alexander Sadila, head of the traffic project group within the Organising Committee explained that motorised traffic will be organised according to visitors going to and from the stadium and people going to and from the Public Viewing areas. Fans arriving by car and bus and going to the stadium will be guided to the respective car parks via the "West/Minimundus" motorway exit; visitors going to the Fan Zones / Public Viewing areas will reach their car parks via the "Ost" motorway exit. There will be shuttle buses from the car parks, from the airport and the train station. Signs will ensure correct management of traffic. Sadila said that there will be approximately 21,000 parking spaces.

There will also be dedicated traffic measures for the residents. From June 6th to 18th, no traffic will be allowed in the city centre of Klagenfurt from 1 o'clock in the afternoon. Within the ring roads, a large fan area will be installed.
