Gerhard Oswald prepared the concept for public transport. Between June 6th and 18th, there will be no public transport beyond the Ring road. The city centre will be turned into one large pedestrian zone - accessible for loading purposes during the morning hours only. Along the Ring, there will be seven stops that will be served at short intervals.
The public transport system is quite simple: "The scheduled public transit buses will stop every 20 minutes at every bus stop in Klagenfurt. Along the Ring, changing to other buses will be possible at one-minute intervals."
The time schedule has, of course, been coordinated with public transport organisations outside Klagenfurt, as fans will be arriving from all over Carinthia.
The Klagenfurt Mobility Centre rented 24 additional vehicles for the time of the EURO and will employ an additional 50 bus conductors.
