Host city media centre officially opened

The municipality of Klagenfurt and the province of Carinthia offer optimum working conditions for the media at the Host City Media Centre that will open on 7 June. The Host City Media Centre Klagenfurt - Kärnten (HCMC) will be open for accredited journalists covering the EURO 08. The Media Centre is organised by the city and province together and is located at the Stadthaus in Theaterplatz 3, just a few minutes from the fan zones. It will be open from June 7 to 17, daily from 9:00 in the morning until 10:00 at night, and on the three days when matches are played in Klagenfurt until midnight. Before, after and on match days, Governor Jörg Haider, Mayor Harald Scheucher and the police will hold media briefings at 10:30 am at the HCMC. The Media Centre was presented by Klagenfurt's Mayor and Governor Haider.

The HCMC offers work stations, telephones, fax machines, a limited number of Internet-enabled PCs, printers, copiers and power supply. Standardised LAN, ISDN and analogue connections will be available for the mobile devices of journalists to ensure Internet and data access. A wireless LAN is also available. The matches will be shown live on flat screens.
