Klagenfurt prepared itself for one of the world's largest sports events for years. The provincial capital of Carinthia was a Host City of the European Football Championship 2008. Now the exciting football event of the EURO, which attracted many guests from Austria and abroad, is over. The atmosphere in the new stadium was sensational on the three match days. "Those who were there will never forget it, it was simply unique", the visitors said enthusiastically about the "boiling pot" with 30,000 cheering and partying fans. With the many fans from Poland, Croatia and Germany, the city also turned into a colourful sea of flags; people in the fan zones and fan miles celebrated passionately during all broadcasts. There were great, cheerful, clean and safe games in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee.

The Host City of Klagenfurt and the organisational committee would like to thank everybody who contributed to the organisation and preparation of the three matches of the EURO 2008. Thanks also go to all the citizens of Klagenfurt who despite some restrictions took part in the celebrations during this time and were good hosts for the many fans from other countries.
The city proved itself as a professional Host City and could also increase its level of familiarity throughout Europe.

Klagenfurt am Wörthersee hopes that many guests will carry out their promises and come to Klagenfurt again - as friends and holiday guests.
