Welcome to the Host City Klagenfurt. We are delighted to be hosting such a major sporting event and for the opportunity to show guests from all parts of Europe the remarkable beauties of our city. Klagenfurt is the most southerly provincial capital in Austria and you can sense this at once in the atmosphere of the city, in its hospitality and in the way the people of Klagenfurt enjoy life.

We have prepared for the world's third largest sporting event with meticulous care and commitment. The European Championship games will be held in the new Wörthersee Stadium and it is worth noting that the specialists have already singled it out as the finest stadium in the European Championship 2008. Its spectacular location between the broad Alpine waters of Lake Wörthersee, the high mountain peaks backdrop of the Karawanken range and the historic city with its Mediterranean flair are alone enough to put this stadium in a class of its own.

We will celebrate the big football festival in two giant fan zones, in a fan boulevard and throughout the entire inner city together with our guests. We are delighted by the coming European football celebrations and the exciting games that will be played in our stadium.

We are very pleased that our guests will have the opportunity of getting to know Klagenfurt and we look forward to welcoming them back again.
